Niuniek has Spanish Flu is 1918 play incorrectly attributed to Mark Twain. More information is available in Pandemic Re-Awakenings: The Forgotten and Unforgotten 'Spanish' Flu of 1918–1919 (Oxford University Press, 2022).
- Excerpt from page 125:
... the farce ... was staged at Mozaika theatre in Warsaw on 11 November 1918. It was published three years later in Poznan in 1921 and the only known remaining copy is in the Polish National Library. The play was misleadingly attributed to Mark Twain, who had died in 1910, exploiting his name for marketing purposes. The purported translator, Cyril Danielewski, writer of operettas, comedies and vaudevilles popular in the Kingdom of Poland and Russia, was probably its true author. However, the realities of the world depicted suggest that it could have been based on an American piece.
