Marven Gardens Historic District near Atlantic City, New Jersey. "Marvin Gardens" in the Monopoly board game is named after this Marven Gardens; they just misspelled it. The historic district has been on the NRHP since September 13, 1990, and is bounded by Ventnor, Fredericksburg, Winchester and Brunswick avenues, in Margate City, on the border with Ventnor City, a bit south of, and on the same island as Atlantic City, NJ. Most of the homes in the district have a Spanish Colonial or "early California" flavor, but there are also several with a "Dutch roof" style.
