English: Andre Braugher (/ˈbraʊər/; July 1, 1962 – December 11, 2023) was an American actor. He was best known for his roles as Cassiel in City of Angels, Thomas Searles in the film Glory, as the fiery detective Frank Pembleton on Homicide: Life on the Street from 1993 to 1998 and again in the 2000 made-for-TV film, and as Owen Thoreau Jr. on the TNT show Men of a Certain Age, and in the same year, played senior detective Satch DeLeon, in the science-fiction film Frequency. In 2012, he played the leading role of Captain Marcus Chaplin on the US primetime drama series Last Resort, broadcast on ABC. Between 2013 and 2021 he played on Brooklyn Nine-Nine.
