Year of the Bus
English: Being held in 2014, the Year of the Bus is a programme of events organised by the London Transport Museum and Transport for London to celebrate London' bus network and it's iconic red London buses. Events included garage open days and the Regent Street Bus Cavalcade. Marking the occasion, one of the New Routemaster buses (LT150) was unveiled in January 2014 at the launch event in a special silver livery, while other service buses had 'Year of the Bus' roundels applied. The year coincided with three major anniversaries - 60 years since the creation of the Routemaster, 75 years since the launch of the RT-Type bus and 100 years since the B-Type bus was used to transport troops to the front-line in World War I. London Transport Museum restored B-type No. B340 to war time livery. They also created a mobile exhibition bus (R197 DDX).
