Not crazy yet...
edit...no problem adding those messages (sorry I missed one, but Lupo took it), especially when you're making it so easy for us by adding the new text properly formatted on the message talk page. Keep up the good work Finn Rindahl (talk) 10:46, 23 June 2008 (UTC)
Translation
editThanks so much for all the translations you did! I'm sure many people appreciate it. :-) All should be done, tell me if there are any issues. Cheers, —Giggy 10:27, 1 July 2008 (UTC)
Galician translations needed
editHi! I contact you as you speak English and Galician.
Jastrow and I are working on autotranslating Meta information museum, the meta-template we use for many museums, like Information Louvre. Could you please help us find Galician translations for every tag name:
* artist/maker * description * dimensions * credit line * accession number * location * source/photographer * references * other versions
"Credit line" is mainly about the mode of acquisition: what collection does it come from? Did it join the collections by gift, purchase, on loan, etc.? (Spanish translations already available here.)
Thanks for any help. Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 10:24, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
- It seems perfect. Thanks a lot! Bibi Saint-Pol (sprechen) 15:49, 28 July 2009 (UTC)
Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.BotMultichillT 06:05, 16 September 2009 (UTC)
