Hello, Steve.
On behalf of you, I made your gallery User:Steve46814/Korea Gallery because you are not familiar with Wikipedia Commons, and your "gallery" [1] does not show the images taken by you. Though creating subpages of user pages is fully up to the owners. Of course, you can check where your files are located within here by searching your name.[2] But I think creating the gallery is a courtesy for your contributions, so I notify you of it. Best regards.--Caspian blue (talk) 13:05, 22 August 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, Steve. I'm not sure that I can guide you because of my English. But just to make such subpage under your userpages (User:Steve46814 and User_talk:Steve46814), you just need to a "red link" first on the pages with a slash "/" like below.
- User:Steve46814/Gallery or you can directly insert a slash right after you current webaddress like http://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/User:Steve46814/Gallery After then, just click the link or address and you can create the page in real. The link would become blue after the creation. Whenever people need to archive their old discussions on their pages, this way also works with the "move" button on the tab at the top.
If you still are not sure of what I'm talking about, I will fetch admins or established editors here to help you. Regards. --Caspian blue (talk) 15:11, 23 August 2008 (UTC)
Wonderful pansori images!
editHow did you take the images? Wow, those are great in quality. I really appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia with your excellent photos which also include rare Korean culture. Thank you very much.--Caspian blue (talk) 16:58, 14 September 2008 (UTC)
- Oh, that is a good episode. :) My hands are always shaking when taking pictures in such places. I tagged the food picture with Category:Cuisine of Korea. Keep up the good work!--Caspian blue (talk) 11:58, 18 September 2008 (UTC)
Galleries
editHi, Steve, again thank you for the wonderful images of Korea. Your images have been not only used on English Wikipedia but also other language Wikipedia as well as Commons galleries such as Dosan Seowon, Seowon, Andong, Guinsa. You can create a new gallery if you want to present your images more accessible for the public. Since article pages on Wikipedia has a limitation on image numbers, I think you can take a chance to use Gallery function on Commons. I hope you enjoy editing Wikipedia, and if you need any question, feel free to ask me. And I also added two sections of you images to your Korean gallery page. Best regards.--Caspian blue 22:03, 25 July 2009 (UTC)
- Hi, I recommend you to use Commons:Commonist which could be a perfect tool for uploading a lot of image at once. I learned to use it just a couple of days ago, and it is easy to learn. All you need to do is to download the program and Java if you're using PC. After you hit a button for uploading, when the tool finish the task, it would automatically generate User:Steve46814/gallery and record what image you upload with the tool. (see User:Caspian_blue/gallery. Then have a nice weekend.--Caspian blue 23:44, 25 July 2009 (UTC)

Explanation
edit- Please understand my revert of your latest edit because the version of the image is how you obtained the quality image status. So if you think the alternative derivative should be uploaded, please upload it with a slightly different name. Thanks.--Caspian blue 05:03, 23 October 2009 (UTC)
- Sorry for the much belated reply. No problem at all. You're just learning Wikipedia so am I. :-) --Caspian blue 13:06, 31 October 2009 (UTC)
Hi, Added a selection of photos of Tapsa a little over a week ago with the bulk uploader but failed to prefix the file name properly. After discovering my error I added the rename template requesting to properly name the files. So far the files have not been renamed. I seem to have read somewhere the the rename template is generally ignored so files seldom actually get renamed. Why is there a template that is not used? I'm ready to re-upload my files and flag the original files for deletion. How much longer do you think I should wait for these files to be renamed before I give up and replace them. I would appreciate your opinion regarding this activity. As always, thank you for advice. Steve46814 (talk) 01:22, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- The template was operated by a user, but since he is not active on Commons, admins are manually doing the job. I guess the task is backlogged, so you can request for help from any available admins.Commons:Administrators --Caspian blue 03:12, 12 February 2010 (UTC)
- Gday Steve. Found the underlying cause of the failed moves, it is partly code and partly the use of the & (ampersand) character. It would seem advisable that the ampersand character should be avoided in file naming in the future. They need to be done manually, so, for me that will mean that some images will need to await my sanity returning after a sleep. billinghurst sDrewth 13:27, 13 February 2010 (UTC)

Autopatrol given
editHello. I just wanted to let you know that I have granted autopatrol rights to your account; the reason for this is that I believe you are sufficiently trustworthy and experienced to have your contributions automatically marked as "reviewed". This has no effect on your editing, it is simply intended to make it easier for users that are monitoring Recent changes or Recent uploads to find unproductive edits amidst the productive ones like yours. In addition, the Flickr upload feature and an increased number of batch-uploads in UploadWizard, uploading of freely licensed MP3 files, overwriting files uploaded by others and an increased limit for page renames per minute are now available to you. Thank you.—레비Revi 04:48, 12 February 2014 (UTC)

editHi Steve,
You took an excellent photo of a copy of a Tripitaka Koreana woodblock of the Heart Sutra at:
We would like to use it in an exhibition for display at A2 size, should that be possible. Do you have in your possession a version of the photo of larger file size?
Best Wishes,
