- Cordialement, Romanceor 13:54, 19 February 2008 (UTC)

Romanceor 23:31, 20 February 2008 (UTC)
Quality Image Candidates
editI figured I would mention this before one of the less cordial members does. It's generally frowned upon to nominate more than a few pictures in a single day. I doubt most people would mind 5 or 6 at a time, but you posted 15. This is mentioned in the guidelines at the top of the page.
Nice pictures, if you have any questions feel free to post on my talk page. Calibas 01:13, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- I'm sorry I didn't notice that ; I just figured it was a good way to work on those images, making them better. I'll slow down nominations for now on. Romanceor 04:22, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
Quality Image candidate · Image:Grand Trianon.jpg
editHi, Thanks for your comments on my photos. About this one, this is the original picture, and these colors are real. Romanceor 17:42, 26 February 2008 (UTC)
- Hi Romanceor. Welcome to my talk.
- Not retouched: If so, did you use proper white-balance when time you shoot this? I seem still that slightly too amber (and tilt).
- And... You could have needn't to put nomination template to User:talk. This is used only QI candidates [1] ;) _Fukutaro 10:34, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

Quality Image candidate · Image:La Tour Eiffel surplombant Paris.jpg
editBonjour.

Bonne continuation. Rama 10:11, 27 February 2008 (UTC)

FP Nomination
editDear Romanceor. I hope that you do not oppose of nominating your photo "Vendeuse d'arachides.jpg" as a Fetured Picture candidate. Quite simply, excellent work and stunning photo. I really hope that it is accepted as FP. It should be. --Thermos 17:30, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Thank you very much ; I didn't want to do it myself. More of this kind of pictures are coming. --Romanceor 17:38, 28 April 2008 (UTC)
- Hello. Glad to see that your image achieved FP-status. Congratulations! --Thermos 14:48, 8 May 2008 (UTC)

Bandeau de permission
editLuc Viatour,
Vous remerciant wikimicalement, Romanceor 15:54, 5 May 2008 (UTC)
Size
editHi, I don't understand what you modified in this picture to change the size like that... Is that a better JPEG compression ? Or something else ? Romanceor 15:32, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- Well, I merely removed a lot of noise, which was taking a lot of real estate ;). The files I post are always compressed with a mere 5%. Cheers. Lycaon 16:11, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
FP Template
editMany thanks for the nomination of my first FP promotion. Why didn't I have a template advising me of the promotion in my user talk page ? Romanceor 23:18, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- I just saw you have it ; was it an error or the author of the pictures isn't advised by templates ? Romanceor 23:22, 12 May 2008 (UTC)
- That sounds weird. Really. You should definitely get the "FP Promotion" tag on your talk page, which incorporates a thumb of your image and says something like:
- "The image has been promoted to Featured picture
- The image Image:FringillaCoelebsFemale.jpg, which was nominated by Benh at Commons:Featured picture candidates/Image:FringillaCoelebsFemale.jpg has been promoted. Thank you for your contribution. If you would like to nominate another image, please do so."
- Actually, If you look above, you can see that kind of tags on two of my images, which were nominated as FP by other Commons users (see FP tags of Chaffinch from 10 May 2007 and Mute Swan from 20 March 2007). So, appropriate tag definitely exists.
- Perhaps yous should wait something like a week and if the tag doesn't appear, contact some Commons administrator? At least I didn't ask for the tags myself, they simply appeared one day. I suppose that verifying process is not too quick in this respect. --Thermos 04:00, 13 May 2008 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot for this complete answer ; I'll wait a week or so and advise a common admin if I still have nothing. Romanceor 16:09, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Noise profiles
editHi,
I downloaded noise profiles for Nikon D70 from neatimage.com, and obtained four dozens of *.dnp files. If I take a ISO400 picture exemple, here are my different choices. Where do I have to put these *.dnp files ? I didn't find the right menu in Capture NX, and neither in Photoshop...
- D70-PreWB-JPEG L-Sharp ML-Normal Curve - NIKON D70 (ISO400; 4bpp; SharpSoft; 3008x2000; WB Default; 1by13s).dnp
- D70-PreWB-JPEG L-Sharp ML-P&S 4.1 Curve - NIKON D70 (ISO400; 4bpp; SharpSoft; 3008x2000; WB Default; 1by13s).dnp
- D70-PreWB-RAW NC 4.2-Sharp ML-Normal Curve - NIKON D70 (ISO400; Uncompressed; 3008x2000; WB Default; 1by13s).dnp
- D70-PreWB-RAW NC 4.2-Sharp ML-P&S 4.1 Curve - NIKON D70 (ISO400; Uncompressed; 3008x2000; WB Default; 1by13s).dnp
Thanks, --Romanceor [parlons-en] 12:18, 23 May 2008 (UTC)
- Hi, They work with the help of program named neatimage from neatimage.com. It is free if you want to process one image a time. You can put the profiles in image directory or the directory specified in the options of the program. --Nevit Dilmen 22:27, 24 May 2008 (UTC)

edit...do not add Commons:Quality_images_candidates to the template path. It is unecessary and just confuses the bot that handles the closing of the candidates. --Dschwen 16:50, 11 June 2008 (UTC)

No te confundas macho.
Saludos.

Noise reduction
editYou did an amazing work on this picture ; what software and profiles did you use to remove the noise ? I tried Capture NX, Photoshop, NeatImage... I never had this result, even better than your 12-May compression. --Romanceor [parlons-en] 14:16, 24 June 2008 (UTC)

Comment est-ce que je peux catégoriser un portrait si la catégorie générale People by alphabet n'a pas la sous-catégorie correspondante ?

Peux-tu me joindre rapidement pour me dire si ça t'intéresse, si tu peux, etc ? Amicalement, --Serein (talk) 00:47, 9 November 2008 (UTC)
signature
editHey Romanceor, you might want to think about making your signature a little simpler. IMO it is way overkill. My bots (QIC/VIC) are not able to parse them , and due to your use of parser-functions(!), they never will be. --Dschwen (talk) 17:23, 6 December 2008 (UTC)
- For VICs and QICs I'll use the classic --Romanceor [parlons-en] 14:46, 30 May 2009 (UTC) for now on.
- But I prefer to keep the old one for discussion pages. However the template Romanceor [parlons-en] could fix the horror of editing after me : it's even shorter than any normal signature.
- Sincerely sorry for the mess and delay, Romanceor [parlons-en] 14:46, 30 May 2009 (UTC)

I removed the claim you added [2] that it shows an "American Civil War" (1861-1865) veteran. Years do not fit with description. Is there more information in print or at a web source? Thank you. Cheers, Infrogmation (talk) 03:32, 23 September 2009 (UTC)
- I don't have more information. The picture is from the 1860s, and not from 1860. For the medal I don't know. He's a veteran, that's the only sure thing. Romanceor [parlons-en]

File:Mask baule3-romanceor.jpg
editSalut,

editP.s.: If you know please add some more info about the location, what museum is this? --Martin H. (talk) 20:26, 15 July 2010 (UTC)
- It isn't a museum : it's a personnal collection. I'm looking for help to identify origin of some of its. Romanceor [parlons-en] 00:33, 16 July 2010 (UTC)
- Cant help you with this, but maybe you can create a subpage with a gallery or with sections for individual files in your user namespace and link to that userpage with an invitation to participate (e.g. "help identifying this mask, participate in [[user:Romancoer/unidentified masks#File:mask foo1-romancoer.jpg]]"). Maybe you can encourage visitors to participate - but dont expect much participation, regretably there isnt much activity in such attempts. --Martin H. (talk) 16:19, 19 July 2010 (UTC)

--Martin H. (talk) 16:19, 19 July 2010 (UTC)
image use
editHi Roman,
Just letting you know that I'm using several of your images for my educational site, Essential Humanities, on the "Medieval/Early Modern Sub-Saharan Art" page (http://www.essentialhumanities.net/artw14.html).
Thanks for making these images available :)

Copyright status: File:Panneau Passirac.jpg
editThis media may be deleted. |
Thanks for uploading File:Panneau Passirac.jpg. I notice that the file page either doesn't contain enough information about the license or it contains contradictory information about the license, so the copyright status is unclear.
If you created this file yourself, then you must provide a valid copyright tag. For example, you can tag it with {{self|GFDL|cc-by-sa-all}} to release it under the multi-license GFDL plus Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike All-version license or you can tag it with {{PD-self}} to release it into the public domain. (See Commons:Copyright tags for the full list of license tags that you can use.) If you did not create the file yourself or if it is a derivative of another work that is possibly subject to copyright protection, then you must specify where you found it (e.g. usually a link to the web page where you got it), you must provide proof that it has a license that is acceptable for Commons (e.g. usually a link to the terms of use for content from that page), and you must add an appropriate license tag. If you did not create the file yourself and the specific source and license information is not available on the web, you must obtain permission through the VRT system and follow the procedure described there. Note that any unsourced or improperly licensed files will be deleted one week after they have been marked as lacking proper information, as described in criteria for deletion. If you have uploaded other files, please confirm that you have provided the proper information for those files, too. If you have any questions about licenses please ask at Commons:Village pump/Copyright or see our help pages. Thank you. |
No required license templates were detected at this file page. Please correct it, or if you have any questions please contact me on my talk page. Yours sincerely, Jarekt (talk) 13:25, 3 February 2014 (UTC)
File source is not properly indicated: File:1860 Anonyme Un vétéran et sa femme Ambrotype.jpg
editThis media may be deleted. |
A file that you have uploaded to Wikimedia Commons, File:1860 Anonyme Un vétéran et sa femme Ambrotype.jpg, is missing information about where it comes from or who created it, which is needed to verify its copyright status. Please edit the file description and add the missing information, or the file may be deleted.
If you created the content yourself, enter If someone else created the content, or if it is based on someone else's work, the source should be the address to the web page where you found it, the name and ISBN of the book you scanned it from, or similar. You should also name the author, provide verifiable information to show that the content is in the public domain or has been published under a free license by its author, and add an appropriate template identifying the public domain or licensing status, if you have not already done so. Warning: Wikimedia Commons takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing. Please add the required information for this and other files you have uploaded before adding more files. If you need assistance, please ask at the help desk. Thank you! |
