Welcome to Wikimedia Commons, PhotoBooth11!

-- Wikimedia Commons Welcome (talk) 11:31, 3 December 2019 (UTC)Reply

Photobooth11 keeps incorrectly editing a picture of Charles Seely and calling it “Sir Charles Seely”. The photo is of the father: https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Charles_Seely_(politician,_born_1803) and not his son.

edit

Please stop overwriting the earlier photographs. New versions need to be uploaded as new files per COM:Overwrite. The best thing would be to stick to standard naming, but add the current year in the filename.

If you need help mass reverting what you have done so far, please ask at COM:AN.

Thanks. (talk) 17:27, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Your overwrites

edit

If you continue with your overwrites, be you a single subject or under orders of state officials, i will report you for your actions and you run the serious risk of being blocked. Tm (talk) 18:49, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

  • Some of the reverts you did reverted images that had been improved. I should point out, you have uploaded [[1]] multiple images that are copyrighted and are being deleted. Furthermore you've been blocked multiple times: [[2]]. PhotoBooth11 (talk) 18:53, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
    • Stop reverting [3] and [4], I added better quality versions. PhotoBooth11 (talk) 18:55, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
      • More than 2 million edits and hundred of thousands of images uploaded so there you have, an statistically irrelevant copyvio, even when i nominate many more to deletion. Also, if you continue violating overwriting policies, dont complain that you get blocked despite other warnings (and i was every time unblocked as most of those blocks were administrators violating policies). Tm (talk) 19:14, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply
        • Your versions are under a new filename, so stop your childish reversions. Dont editorialize other projects with versions that those users did not choose. Tm (talk) 22:37, 20 June 2020 (UTC)Reply

Overwriting files

edit

Hi!

It is nice that you want to provide better files to Commons but generally we do not overwrite files. Upload the new files with a new name instead. See COM:OW for more information about when it is okay to overwrite files.

Please stop...

edit

Please stop uploading new photos onto files, which show a different photo of the same person. The correct procedure would be to upload the new photo as a new file and then replace the old photo in the relevant articles one by one. Please get used to common practice, before reverting any of the reverts of your unusual and undesired procedure. Although it might look straight forward to you, it complicated the licence issues, i.e. the author and licence of the original photo might be different to that of the new photo that you uploaded. The overwrite feature should only be used for modifications of the original photo, e.g. cropping the black frame off a photo. --NearEMPTiness (talk) 20:36, 4 August 2020 (UTC)Reply

Hi! Metadata says "ROGER HARRIS" and not Richard Townshend. Where did you see Richards name? --MGA73 (talk) 15:52, 14 August 2020 (UTC)Reply
