Image:2004-09-02 1580x2800 chicago IBM building.jpg
editHi, I have just been going through various Wikimedia projects that use Image:IBM bldg jc01.jpg and changing them to use Image:2004-09-02 1580x2800 chicago IBM building.jpg. In doing so I noticed that you made a slightly different crop for the two images. In the newer image there is a little bit of the Marina City complex that pokes in at the left of the picture. I think that it looks better with that cropped out, if you agree would you upload a new crop. Thanks, —JeremyA 14:55, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Ok it's gone. I usually point to the replacement image in my deletion summary but I can't find one for Image:Blue_angels_chi_2004.jpg. Is this an image that you didn't intend to replace? —JeremyA 20:02, 1 April 2007 (UTC)
Picture deletion
editThe three first pictures are still used in other wiki projects. Michelet-密是力 07:37, 9 April 2007 (UTC)
badname tag
editPlease read commons policy, you just re-added a badname tag where it had been removed by me. badname is only to be used on *identical* images. If the image is not identical use COM:DEL instead. Thank you. Lcarsdata 21:35, 14 April 2007 (UTC)

Image:2004-07-14 2600x1500 chicago lake skyline.jpg
editCould you produce a very high quality Chicago skyline photo that adequately captures it in daylight with minimal smog. Pleeasssee use your SLR :) Preferably a wide lens would be better but we need an "iconic" photo that captures the skyline without too much additional fuss. Your current one Image:2004-07-14 2600x1500 chicago lake skyline.jpg is a great frame actually so you could even do that same perspective. But the point being the colors of the buildings need to come off a little better. Davumaya (talk) 21:44, 9 October 2008 (UTC)
Help needed
editHi Jcrocker,
I saw all the pictures of Chicago you made, maybe you can help me. As I'm writting an article in french uppon the "Second Presbyterian Church of Chicago". I noticed there is no picture available of the building. May I ask if you have some and would agree to dowload them on Commons ?
Best regards. Giovanni-P (talk) 06:43, 6 February 2009 (UTC)
licensing
editHi Jcrocker, I was wondering if you've ever considered using the Creative Commons Attribution license for your photographs. It is essentially the same as the custom license you are using, but is formulated to be legally enforceable throughout the world and to minimize conflicts with other licenses. Tip: Categorizing images
edit
Thanks a lot for contributing to the Wikimedia Commons! Here's a tip to make your uploads more useful: Why not add some categories to describe them? This will help more people to find and use them.
Here's how:
1) If you're using the UploadWizard, you can add categories to each file when you describe it. Just click "more options" for the file and add the categories which make sense:
2) You can also pick the file from your list of uploads, edit the file description page, and manually add the category code at the end of the page.

For example, if you are uploading a diagram showing the orbits of comets, you add the following code:

This will make the diagram show up in the categories "Astronomical diagrams" and "Comets".
When picking categories, try to choose a specific category ("Astronomical diagrams") over a generic one ("Illustrations").
Thanks again for your uploads! More information about categorization can be found in Commons:Categories, and don't hesitate to leave a note on the help desk.CategorizationBot (talk) 15:41, 6 June 2011 (UTC)
