complete book of knowledge
editYou have replaced a perfectly good file with a gigantic image that does not serve its purpose. I have attempted to revert your upload, and please consider the use of the image (on user pages), where it is not a thumbnail. Thanks. WomenArtistUpdates (talk) 15:26, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Alright, should the high-quality image be file:Book of Knowledge.jpg, then? Currently the two files are near-identical, but for some reason both are used by the service awards templates. Arlo James Barnes 15:45, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
- Because I think that one of the three is the original (Tutnum6.jpg) and the latter three are digitally retouched (although slightly). It seems that in Book of Knowledge.jpg it was added the string "secret appendix", in Book of Knowledge2.jpg also the string "errata" and finally in Book of Knowledge.jpg a blue "signed copy" stamp. For the uses of the file, at least on it.wiki, see (in ascending order):
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Illustre Looshpah (o Master Editor) (original file),
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Propizio Looshpah (o Master Editor II) (with "secret appendix"),
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Magnifico e Più che Perfetto Looshpah (o Master Editor III) (with "secret appendix" and errata corrige),
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Looshpah Laureato dell'Enciclopedia (o Master Editor IV) (with signed copy stamp).
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Lord Gran Togneme Vicario (o Grandmaster Editor) (original 2nd edition cover)
- it:Wikipedia:Barnstar al merito wikipediano#Lord Gran Togneme Laureato (o Grandmaster Editor di I classe) (cover barcode)

- You should not upload over an image with an another one very different (the change of size is ok, but it were also changed the colour and the part of the book represented) and also with a completely different aspect ratio (You have cropped the image with an aspect ratio of 5 (225×1115), so a huge image appeared on the pages where the file was previously used). You should upload them with new names, as I saw that you have multiple new images about the book other than the three images already present in The Complete Compendium of Universal Knowledge). --ZandDev (talk) 17:31, 14 December 2023 (UTC)
Encyclopædia files move
editI also moved the files that you have inserted in The Complete Compendium of Universal Knowledge (as they refers to a different book) to The Book of Knowledge, but I was unable to clearly distinguish The Book of Knowledge (Q64775219) (en) from The Children's Encyclopædia (Q7722457) (en) and if a new category for containing the files I moved is necessary or more suitable. --ZandDev (talk) 02:52, 15 December 2023 (UTC)
Overwritten files
editFirst of all: Thank you for the new versions from 2023! They are excellent, very informative contributions. However, even though they replaced low-quality examples of the exact same type of object, they shouldn't have been used to overwrite ultimately different images. Please see Commons:Overwriting existing files for more information.
The same goes for the first image listed below. In this case, it has caused (or will cause) some confusion related to "other versions" listed in the file description of some related images:
- File:David Revoy.jpg
- File:David Revoy sketches Todd Weaver at Swatantra 2017.jpg
- File:David Revoy during a Pepper and Carrot comic signing-session at Trolls & Legendes Festival, in Mons Belgium, 2023.jpg
When you're able to, please revert your uploads to the original versions, adjust the affected file pages accordingly, and upload your images separately. If you're aware of any other overwritten files among your uploads, do consider sorting them out as well.
Thank you for understanding that this is all intended to improve your already highly constructive contributions.

Thanks for uploading File:Celestine.png. This media is missing permission information. A source is given, but there is no proof that the author or copyright holder agreed to license the file under the given license. Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT ([email protected]). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page. Alternatively, you may click on "Challenge speedy deletion" below the tag if you wish to provide an argument why evidence of permission is not necessary in this case.
Please see this page for more information on how to confirm permission, or if you would like to understand why we ask for permission when uploading work that is not your own, or work which has been previously published (regardless of whether it is your own). Warning: unless the permission information is given, the file may be deleted after seven days. Thank you. |

Gallifreyan category
editOut of curiosity, do you know why you put Category:Gallifreyan on File:RelationshipAnarchy.png (diff)? The image doesn't have anything to do with Gallifreyan, the fictional language from Doctor Who. Suntooooth (talk) 04:05, 8 August 2024 (UTC)

Mohawk has been listed at Commons:Categories for discussion so that the community can discuss ways in which it should be changed. We would appreciate it if you could go to voice your opinion about this at its entry. If you created this category, please note that the fact that it has been proposed for discussion does not necessarily mean that we do not value your kind contribution. It simply means that one person believes that there is some specific problem with it. If the category is up for deletion because it has been superseded, consider the notion that although the category may be deleted, your hard work (which we all greatly appreciate) lives on in the new category. In all cases, please do not take the category discussion personally. It is never intended as such. Thank you! |
