edit

I think we are having issues with Wikimedia rendering of the correct image. There are a lot of times when a new SVG image is uploaded, the old image still shows no matter what happens. I assure you that I am using the older eagle (I am trying to get the eagle to match the legislation sent me, so I think it is something that can be approved of over time). Hi

edit

I have a PDF from the Albanian Ministry of Defence. It shows many flags and emblems of the Albanian Forces. I thought you would be the person to ask, if you could make them? Fry1989 eh? 23:32, 6 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Thanks anyways. I too wish they had uploaded them in SVG, then I could just take them from the PDF and upload them here. Fry1989 eh? 19:53, 7 January 2013 (UTC)Reply

Licenses

edit

Hi, seems that most of your uploads are in public domain, and therefore are not licensed under CC BY-SA. Please remove {{own}} tags from your images and replace them with public domain licenses that best describe your work. Source links would be useful too. Thanks. --Λeternus (talk) 08:11, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

You must also remove other tags or licenses that refer to the uploads as you own, such as "self", "cc-by-sa-3.0", or "GFDL". You can use {{PD-Albania-exempt}} for any Albanian emblem/logo that is in the public domain (see File:Logo of Albanian 100th anniversary of independence.svg for example). --Λeternus (talk) 11:45, 13 June 2014 (UTC)Reply

Hmmm.. what should i do for the files that are from kosovo? AceDouble (talk) 11:38, 12 February 2015 (UTC)Reply

Hello AceDouble, I am currently updating the articles of the Albanian Armed Forces on the English wiki and using your excellent coat of arms of the various services. Some of them are slightly to modify:

I would appreciate if you could please update the names on the coat of arms, and request to move the Albanian Logistics Brigade file from its current name to "Albanian Support Command.svg". Thank you, Noclador (talk) 10:25, 15 May 2020 (UTC)Reply

Wrong license files

edit

Hello there. Please do not remove the licenses from these files. Instead, if you disagree with their use (which I found to be correct) you are free to nominate them for deletion, where they can be thoroughly discussed. That is especially important because they are widely COM:INUSE. Thanks. Bedivere (talk) 18:03, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply

Did you do this on purpose?
[[1]] here you have the answer already from User:Ankry
Yes they have wrong license, and second these municipalities are located in Kosovo, so their origin is outside of serbia. If i nominate them for deletion they won't be deleted because of the wrong license applied. Please undo your edits AceDouble (talk) 18:18, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
PD-KosovoGov would apply, wouldn't it? These are all symbols of a body performing public duties. Bedivere (talk) 19:39, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Both {{PD-KosovoGov}} and {{PD-Kosovo-exempt}} apply in these cases. You could do just fine by correcting these licensing templates instead of removing them or providing a solution. Have a good day. --Bedivere (talk) 19:43, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
  • Would you mind explaining why have you been tagging incorrectly images as having no licenses only for them to be deleted after you failed to successfully having them deleted via a deletion request? It is what you've done with File:Flag of North Mitrovica.svg, File:Flag of Leposavić (vertical), Kosovo.svg, File:Flag of Zubin Potok.png, File:Flag of Leposavic.png, File:Flag of North Mitrovica.png and File:Flag of Leposavić, Kosovo.svg. This is extremely disruptive behavior and if you continue do so once again, you will be blocked. --Bedivere (talk) 19:51, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Nope, not even Kosovo pd, in order to do so they should've been adopted through the municipal assembly as required per law on local self-government in Kosovo => https://mapl.rks-gov.net/wp-content/uploads/2017/10/Law-On-Local-Self-Government.pdf Article 7 Symbols 7.3 "The symbols of a Municipality shall be approved and changed by the municipal assembly pursuant to the constitutional and legal provisions of Republic of Kosova and shall not resemble to symbols of other states or municipalities within or outside Republic of Kosova". So Kosovo doesn't recognize these logos since they lack credibility and copyright.
For example these municipalities do have a serb-majority population and their logos were adopted according to the law:
    kk.rks-gov.net/shterpce
    kk.rks-gov.net/kllokot
    kk.rks-gov.net/partesh
    kk.rks-gov.net/ranillug
    kk.rks-gov.net/novoberde
    kk.rks-gov.net/gracanice
If you continue harassing me, I'll report you to the Arbitration Commitee. AceDouble (talk) 21:35, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Of course even if they are not adopted by the government per the law you cite, they would still be generated by a public entity and so would be in the public domain. Being "not adopted" does not make it less generated by a body with public occupation as required by the law. In fact, that wording could be applied to offices that are not even public (as in State-owned). In the case of that of Prishtina, it was generated by the commune government before Kosovo declared its independence, and so the Serbian law applies. Bedivere (talk) 21:57, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
You still don't get it -_-
How about Argentine claiming all chilean cities as theirs?
They are not even used publicly. They appeared out of nowhere. Now why did you reverted the 4 deleted files that were deleted through deletion request? You seem to have no clue, and you keep doing this on purpose here is the discussion and please read carefully [[2]] AceDouble (talk) 00:20, 29 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
I do get it AceDouble. I don't know what your agenda is but in the last few months you've been trying to delete symbols of Kosovo, which apparently correspond to symbols that were generated during the Serbian administration/occupation. I am obviously not the most knowledgeable on the matter and I do not intend to be, but I have read enough to know that the area which is now Kosovo (not widely recognized as a country) is considered by Serbia as its own territory, and it was effectively under its administration before Kosovo declared its independence. It is very clear to understand that while Kosovo people may not recognize Serb law, symbols and everything that comes with it, it is not surprising that Serbs do "apply" their law in that territory, even when it is not enforced for obvious reasons. Now that you mention Argentina and Chile: Argentina does recognize Falklands as their own and include them administratively in their Tierra del Fuego, Atlántico Sur and Islas Malvinas province. It is in their law, even though they have no sovereignty over that territory, that they apply in Falklands. Obviously the UK does not agree but I could bet that copyright law of Argentina would apply in Falklands if they were to be contested in an Argentine court. Conversely, any other country would apply UK as it does exercise sovereignty on that territory. In the case of Chile, the country occupied a large chunk of what is now the Peruvian Tacna department, administratively as the Tacna province of Chile, between the 1880s and 1929. For sure, then copyright law of Chile applied in that territory during that time. I have no knowledge of copyright disputes over contents generated in Tacna during that time, but Peruvian law provided that the Chilean law would be applicable in the case of disputes for property (including copyrights). Bedivere (talk) 22:27, 19 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
Regarding the link you provided, it was only you opposing the restoration, so I don't know what are you trying to prove with that. You could collectively nominate them for deletion (again) if you wish, but again, I am not sure what are you trying to prove with this very evident agenda you're trying to push. Unblock request granted

This blocked user asked to be unblocked, and one or more administrators has reviewed and granted this request.

Request reason: "I can't believe that Bedivere took this too personal.. however I had no ill-intention when I deleted the thread since I'm not familiar with archiving even after 14 years of contributing in the Commons. Now I wanna clarify myself for the mentioned offenses:
  • Intimidation/harassment(Disruptive behavior) I'm really sorry and I regret that I've reported you for nothing
  • Assuming bad faith: Not true, while we were discussing on the "wrong license files" topic Bedivere kept on reverting deleted files that were deleted via deletion request, at that point I felt like my arguments were meaningless and I was deeply upset afterwards
  • Pointless deletion requests: Not true, when an image or symbol has sufficient info or lacks source and their copyright tag can't be clarified why should they still be in use?
  • Pushing an apparently nationalist agenda: Not true, I was referring to the law on local self-government since Kosovo doesn't recognize these symbols and yes they did appear after its Independence. It's serbia who has territorial claims over Kosovo and by that it's pushing an nationalist agenda. Kosovo's Independence was confirmed with the Advisory Opinion from the International Court of Justice in 2010.
For the end I know all these reasonings might not be considered and this may be my very last reply in case my request is declined, but I do understand that I overstepped and again I apologize. I do promise that I won't repeat this kind of behaviour so I really want to earn a second chance to unblock me or at least give me a lesser punitive measure. Yours, AceDouble.

This is far from acceptance of the issue, and a credible promise not to continue. Your statement that Bedivere "kept on reverting deleted files that were deleted via deletion request" is technically true, but simply not an issue. An undeletion request was initiated, where even the deleting admin admitted they deleted the file too quickly. The idea that someone requesting undeletion is somehow bad is simply wrong: why else would Commons:Undeletion requests exist? You also made many pointless deletion requests, you re-opened Commons:Deletion requests/File:Flag of Leposavić, Kosovo.svg even after it was closed with consensus. Your simple refusal to understand INUSE in these DRs is also simply astounding. Given these issues, one can draw the conclusion you are using these "rationales" that have now been rejected by the community as excuses to delete Serbian coats of arms/flags.
However, you have been here for 14 years so you can clearly contribute to other areas of Commons. Hence I propose the following resolution upon unblock:
  1. No uploading/editing files, categories, templates, etc. or creating/participating in discussions (deletion and non-deletion) related to coats of arms or flags from Serbia/Kosovo/Albania unless you specifically or a file you uploaded before this restriction is a topic of the discussion.
  2. No starting/participating in deletion requests/speedy deletion nominations for any file related to Serbia/Kosovo/Albania unless you specifically unless a file you uploaded before this restriction is a topic of the discussion.
  3. You are on a final civility warning - anything more will result in a block (duration can be decided by admin)
Admins, please comment below on your opinions. —Matrix(!) {user - talk? - uselesscontributions} 18:03, 27 June 2024 (UTC)Reply
