Currently trying to improve the colors of a bunch of EU-related maps.
- Some of them don't adhere to MOS:CONTRAST, and therefore WP:ACCESSIBILITY (shades of blue, shades of yellow, shades of green...). So I'm trying to fix this.
- But, more broadly speaking, I'm also trying to standardize colors. EU-related maps were/are very inconsistent with coloring.
Standard colors were mainly derived from 2 sources:
- Colors used for EU-related maps most of the time
- Colors as defined by the EU itself here
- Sometimes I averaged out two differing shades of the same color. When I doubt, I chose the more saturated and bright variant, for contrast.
With this process I arrived at the following color scheme:
- Blue: #003399
- EU Yellow: #ffd617
- EU Red: #da2131
- EU Orange: #F29527 (only when clearly separate from yellow)
- Purple: #a050ff
- Green: #46a43b
- Edit: Needed one more, a bit more subtle color. Used light brown #c39467
- Edit 2: Needed another blue. Used #5bc6ff
