Arturo de Frias Marques
Hello,
I am a wildlife photographer. I have spent the last 15 years travelling the world, carrying 15kg of photography gear, and I have an extensive collection of tens of thousands of wildlife images from around the world. I am also an underwater photographer. I have only very recently started to contribute to Commons, I have only a few Featured Pictures... I hope this will change soon... :-)
You can browse my images in these two web sites (please note, the two sites have no commercial purpose, they are not e-commerce enabled... they are just for sharing):
WWW.ARTURODEFRIAS.COM for land photography, and
WWW.ARTURODEFRIAS-SUB.COM for underwater photography.
You are very welcome to visit them, I would be very pleased if you do! If there is any image there that you would like to use that I have not uploaded yet to Wikipedia, let me know.
Some of the amazing wild spaces I have visited include (more or less from North to South): the Arctic, the Finnish taiga, the English coast, Yellowstone in the US, the Red Sea, the Strait of Hormuz, Bandhavgarh and Kanha (two tiger reserves) in India, Tortuguero and Monteverde in Costa Rica, Borneo, Thailand, Galapagos and Malpelo in the Pacific Ocean, the Maldives, the Amazon and the Pantanal in Brazi, a long list of National Parks in southern Africa countries (Kenya, Tanzania, Namibia, Botswana, Uganda, Zambia, Zimbabwe, South Africa...), Indonesia (including Komodo and West Papua), Iguazu and Tierra del Fuego in Argentina, and the Antarctic Peninsula.
I have also extensively photographed the wildlife in Spain. Spain has 15 National Parks (Doñana, Monfragüe, Picos de Europa, Cabañeros, Aigues Tortes, amongst others...) and dozens more of natural spaces.
I was born in Madrid, Spain. I lived in London for 12 years, from 2000 to 2011. I am currently living again in Madrid, with my family.
Below a short selection of some of my preferred images:
