French versions

edit

1549 version (Jean Martin)

edit

Hypnérotomachie, ou Discours du songe de Poliphile, is the first French-language version, edited by Jean Martin (1546). It is an adaptation and not a literal translation. It contains original prints which are stored at Category:Hypnérotomachie, as well as below in page order.

1883 version (Claudius Popelin)

edit

Le Songe de Poliphile, French traduction of Hypnerotomachia Poliphili by Claudius Popelin, 1883, is a more literate translation of the original version. However it reuses illustrations from the 1549 version (see above), as well as specific ornaments which are stored at Category:Le Songe de Poliphile - trad. Popelin.
