Sitakunda is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindus

Summary

edit
Description
English: Sitakunda is a holy pilgrimage site for Hindus in Chittagong, Bangladesh. Lakhs of people gather at this place every year on Shivratri. Pilgrims are seen walking to the temple in the picture. According to history, Mahamuni Bhargava lived here. Ramachandra, son of Dasharatha, king of Ayodhya, came here during his exile. Knowing that they would come, Mahamuni Bhargava created three pools for bathing here. But now the cisterns are dry. The pool in which Ramachandra's wife Sita bathed is called Sitakunda. After that, the place was also named Sitakunda in the course of time.
