English: Thee Kuttichathan Thira (the Fire wielder god) is a performing art which takes place in temples of North Kerala in India. The artist does fasting for 41 days before the performance. Extensive make up, head gear, fire torches are used for the outfit. Drums and Cymbals are used to bring rhythm and the artist transforms himself into a Demigod by dancing and twirling with the fire lit torches around him. In this shot the artist was twirling with the fire torches around. Shot at Balussery, Calicut, Kerala.
