Description
English: Tegal Panjang di kawasan Gunung Papandayan mempunyai identitas legal. Keindahannya dilindungi oleh undang-undang. Secara hukum, kawasan ini dilindungi. Dasarnya adalah surat keputusan yang dikeluarkan oleh Kementerian Kehutanan No. 226/kpts/1990 tanggal 1990/08/05. Pada surat keputusan tersebut, dijelaskan bahwa Tegal Panjang merupakan salah satu kawasan cagar alam yang ada di Jawa Barat. Di dalamnya terdapat kekayaan flora dan fauna yang dilindungi.Sebelum sibuk menyusun rencana untuk pergi ke sana, perlu diketahui bahwa cagar alam Tegal Panjang tidak terbuka untuk umum. Berdasarkan SK dari Menteri Kehutanan, kawasan cagar alam, termasuk Tegal Panjang, tidak diperuntukkan sebagai tempat wisata atau kegiatan lain yang sifatnya komersil. Untuk memasuki kawasan cagar alam, harus lebih dulu mendapat Simaksi (Surat Masuk Kawasan Konservasi) dari pihak BKSDA.
