English: 25 March 2019 was the day that Great Western Railway introduced 'Castle Class' trains onto the Cardiff Central to Taunton service. However only three of the new trains (shortened high speed trains refurbished with sliding doors) were ready so several trains formed from unrefurbished coaches were used and described in publicity as the 'Classic Class'. Even with these extra trains many service sin the early weeks were formed by class 158 DMUs or 5- and 9- car IETs off London services. This train arriving at Taunton is powered by refurbished power cars 43041 and 43189 but has 'classic coaches. |
