Suillus neoalbidipes M.E. Palm & E.L. Stewart Image location: Sweet Valley, Pennsylvania, USA Same exact location (to the nearest square foot) as obs 225211 . As noted in BRB, a tasty edible mushroom. Left the two buttons to mature, and hope to revisit site on Thursday/Friday. Collected the larger of the two buttons Friday 12-18. Almost mature. Photos added. Photo taken after mushroom was sectioned on 12-19. Note how the glands on the stipe have developed/darkened. Photos labeled “12-23 A” and “12-23 B” taken 12-23. Photo A shows one of the two mushrooms seen in the thumbnail photo. This mushroom has survived a spell of cold weather, including one 24 hour period when the temperature did not exceed 32F. Development has been very slow, despite the currently wet and warm weather. Used references: BRB
