English: Scott's Mill, Omagh. It is located at Mountjoy Road and the business is 150 years old. With extensive modernisation, there nothing much remains of the original premises. At certain times you can smell the grain from the town. Prior to the existence of the mill, this was the site of a Brewery. When the mill yard was dug up in 1950, quantities of sawdust were found at a depth of 3-5 feet below the surface. If the mill lade was cut before the brewery, it may have served an earlier mill, or possibly an older mill. |
