English: This is an example of a modern day cable-stayed bridge (left, the Veterans Memorial Bridge, built in 1990) to a classic cantilever truss bridge (right, built in 1936 by the Pennsylvania Railroad now owned by the Norfolk Southern Railway). This cable-stayed bridge carries U.S. Route 22 between Ohio and West Virginia, while the cantelever bridge is used for train/rail traffic. |
