Description
English: These photos were taken by Thomas T. Hammond during his trip to the Soviet Union. The photos are unlabeled, so the exact locations and people are unknown. This specific image features a scene from act 1 of Boris Godunov at the Bolshoi Theatre. Set design was created by Fyodor Fyodorovsky for the 1948 re-run, and remains in use to date (2020). Note that similar photos, apparently taken on the same night, are dated 1964.
