Description Haus Kapferer
1775
von Franz de Paula Kapferer aus Tirol im Louis XIV-Stil an Stelle der mittelalterlichen Häuser Zum Schlangeneck, Zur Roten Kanne und Zum Schwarzen Bart als Handels- und Bankhaus errichtet. 1904 neu erbaut von Prof. Hermann Billing. 1944 beim Fliegerangriff zerstört. 1949/50 als erstes Haus der Altstadt Freiburgs von den Erben Kapferer wieder aufgebaut
In diesem Haus verbrachte seine Jugend Georg Hauger (1792 bis 1859) ein Mitkämpfer von Andreas Hofer dessen Gebeine er 1823 aus Mantua nach Innsbruck entführte, wo er in der Hofkirche heute neben ihm ruht.
