Description
English: These photos were taken by Thomas T. Hammond during his trip to the Soviet Union. This specific photo features people walking on the street in Moscow, into the underground tunnel leading from Lenin Museum building (red brick scaffolded wall) to Ploshchad Sverdlova subway station. The poster advertizes a daily dance show by Makhmud Esambayev in the Bauman Garden. Daily open-air shows there were a norm for summer season (not anymore). Another sign of the time (very odd today) is the abundance of modestly ranked miltitary officers in the crowd.
