Object history |
Deutsch: Der Rosenstrauch ist dem Wappen der Grumbach-Wolfskeel entnommen, einer Seitenlinie der Wolfskeel, die 1328 die Burg Grumbach erworben hatten und sich nach ihr benannten. Die Familie ist 1613 ausgestorben. Das Schloss von Rimpar befand sich lange Zeit in ihrem Besitz. In der Pfarrkirche erinnern Grabsteine aus dem 15. und 16. Jahrhundert an diese Adelsfamilie. Das Grabmal des Ritters Eberhard von Grumbach, gestorben 1487, wird als das früheste Werk von Tilman Riemenschneider angesehen. Die Zinnenmauer stellt als Burg- und Schlosssymbol das Schloss von Rimpar dar, das der Würzburger Fürstbischof Julius Echter von Mespelbrunn (1573 bis 1617) im Jahr 1593 erworben hatte und zur Sommerresidenz der Würzburger Fürstbischöfe ausbauen ließ. |
