Description
English: The Long Island Sound steamboat Bay State, built for the Bay State Steamboat Company in 1847. Image from a company advertisement, ca. 1850s. Compared to an earlier lithograph, this image shows lengthened hog frames, more cabins aft, a change in the design of the paddleboxes, and possibly a higher pilot house.
