The first army commanded by the Cid exit by night through the gate south-southwest of the city (Puerta de Baytala, Boatella Buyatallah) and stood behind the almost Real Almoravid rear and south of Fourth. Emplaced after the main army ambushed Christian, a second contingent of more meager cavalry out of the gate of Bab al-Hanas, Bab al Hanax or Puerta de la Culebra, and went directly into the vanguard of the enemy, east of Mislata, in order to cause the advance of the cavalry Almoravid and a hasty retreat that attracted to Valencia in a move similar to tornafuye distraction. This weakened the cohesion of the training Almoravid now extended over three miles in length between fourth and Valencia. Then the Cid, commanding the main body, attacked the rear Almoravid at what the rush was Muslim, took the Real and scored a quick victory.
