English: The old Birnbeck Pier at Weston-super-Mare has been disused for many years now. When the decking started to rot away the boards on the left were laid to allow access to the lifeboat station but even the hardy lifeboat crews abandoned the island last year in favour of a portable building at Kinghtstone Harbour. The first span of the North Steamer Pier collapsed during a storm in December 2015. |
