In the place, where I need to precise licence the form doesn't want to accept {{OTRS| as a correct wikitext describing copyright and this way it makes impossible massive upload of files. Pakaweli (talk) 17:07, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

1. {{OTRS}} is not a copyright tag. It's a tag used by OTRS members to certify that information supporting the actual copyright tag (which must still be present on the file description page) has been received and verified.
2. The {{OTRS}} tag should only be used by OTRS members, and you're not an OTRS member, so you shouldn't be using the {{OTRS}} tag
3. "{{OTRS|" is not even complete wiki syntax; it's missing closing braces.

So what exactly are you trying to achieve, what have you done up to this point, and what led you to believe that you should enter "{{OTRS|" as the copyright tag? —LX (talk, contribs) 22:28, 6 March 2013 (UTC)

New wizard doesn't work anymore

Probably a problem on my end, but I'm using Firefox 16 on a Mac. Up until only a few days ago, the Wizard was working fine. Now it won't upload. I have to use the old form. – Kerαunoςcopia^◁galaxies 07:38, 3 March 2013 (UTC)

What does "won't upload" mean exactly? Which steps do succeed, what happens then - do you get any error messages, what happens on the screen, how long did you wait? --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 10:12, 7 March 2013 (UTC)

I would push the "Select media to upload" button, find a file, and then click ok. Nothing would happen. But now it's working again. Sorry for not being more descriptive. If this thing doesn't work again, I'll be back! (by the way, this still wasn't working as of yesterday, and I haven't changed anything that I can think of, so if you guys made a change today, that did it.) Now only to get DerivativeFX to work again (still doesn't). :P – Kerαunoςcopia^◁galaxies 05:30, 9 March 2013 (UTC)

I assume that you refer to http://toolserver.org/~luxo/derivativeFX/deri1.php ? (That's what I found when using a search engine.) That might be an interesting enhancement request, and any developer interested could take the code from https://fisheye.toolserver.org/browse/luxo/derivativeFX and try to integrate it by creating and testing on a Wikimedia Labs instance. --AKlapper (WMF) (talk) 11:16, 14 March 2013 (UTC)

Date

Why is the Date of creation mandatory while using the Upload Wizard? Everytime I upload a picture with an unknown creation date, I have to put a random date and edit after the submission, which is not very not practical... Amqui (talk) 06:23, 22 March 2013 (UTC)

Untranslated string “Add another category”

Uploading derivative works

I can't figure out how best to specify the licensing for derivative works.

I was trying to upload File:Map - Letchworth State Park - overview.png, which I created based on OpenStreetMap data (which is licensed CC-by-sa-2.0). The upload wizard wanted to know if it was my work (which it is, partially) or someone else's (which it is, partially). If I say "My work", there's no way to specify a source; it would presumably display "Own work" once the upload is completed. If I say "someone else's", it works better, but CC-by-sa-2.0 is not a valid choice under the licensing options. I selected the custom button to allow me to enter my own license tag, but it didn't work. No matter what I put in the field, the wizard reported an error, that the field either didn't contain valid wikitext or didn't contain a license.

I finally had to just say "I don't know" to the license and modify the file description pages manually.

Chunked upload does not work

I tried and re-tried several times to load up an ogv-file (421 MB). Every time the progress bar stops somewhere in the beginning or maybe one third of the way through to the full length while the counter for the time remaining starts going up. I broke off my tries when it estimated "9 hours 3 minutes and 56 seconds remaining" or similar amounts of time. (sorry, no bug report because of "Activity on most bugs, including email addresses, will be visible to the public. ") --Tsui (talk) 23:41, 20 March 2013 (UTC)
