This deletion discussion is now closed. Please do not make any edits to this archive. You can read the deletion policy or ask a question at the Village pump. If the circumstances surrounding this file have changed in a notable manner, you may re-nominate this file or ask for it to be undeleted.

The followings are the reasons to delete the files.

  1. The files are not matching with the policy by the Direcção dos Serviços Meteorológicos e Geofísicos (SMG), the deparment of Macau Goverment, according to website in Meaning of Tropical Cyclone Signals and the relevant recommended safety precautions, as well as the Portuguese and the Chinese, since they are composed in one picture.
  2. The shapes of symbols display during the day time and night time are seperated which cannot be shown at the same time (such as during the day time). Moreover, the symbols for the night time is a kind of night signal to let people know that, as the same time, the shapes of symbols during the day time would be still hosting in the certain places.
  3. When the signals are hosted, SMG would also display the symbol of the day time with the number only, see the example for the Typhoon signal number 1.
  4. As above, TV channels in Macau (TDM, Macau Cable TV and some Macau TV channels) and websites (such as CTM) display the relate signal with the day time one only and they would not showing the one for the night time together even during the night time.
  5. All of them are having the 'new verson' for the pictures which are seperated to display for the day time and night time one. Typhoon signal number 1 in day time and Typhoon signal number 1 in night time are the example for MacauTyphoonSignalNo1.svg to be replaced and fully satisfy for the use in any purpose in different kinds of templates and articles which are related.
  6. In naming the files, there are without spaces.

As all of above reason, hope to be deleted.--T1NH0 (talk) 19:47, 16 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Reasons as typhoon signals of Macau and they are not exsisting to be hosted at the same period of time.--T1NH0

KeepIt is common for articles and instructions on this type of signal to show both the day and night version side by side. Indeed, the web site referred to above does exactly that, as do similar source for other countries. It seems to me that the two examples give in point (5) above should be deleted as they will be very hard to use in an article -- setting images side by side is not a strong point of Wiki markup. So this DR is backwards, I think.      Jim . . . . Jameslwoodward (talk to me) 12:13, 25 July 2010 (UTC)[reply]
