Unclear copyright per its source. Even if PD in Iran, it is not necessarily so in the USA. Rodhullandemu (talk) 20:14, 22 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Keep This is clearly an official photograph of the Iranian shah, it must have been somehow presented to the public back then, so it is PD in Iran now. And there is no copyright relation between the USA and Iran and that means that all Iranian works are PD in the USA. --Botev (talk) 10:05, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment OK, I agree on the PD-USA point, but where is the evidence that this image ever was, or now is, PD in Iran? "Must have been" isn't good enough here, and the source link goes to the website of the former Shah's wife, which is clearly marked (possibly optimistically) as Copyright. Rodhullandemu (talk) 10:27, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment Actually, the website of the former Shah's wife contains only a low resolution version of this picture. The high resolution was taken from another place (I don't know from where, though - it wasn't stated by the uploader GTVM92). Anyway, this is not just a private family photograph kept by the Shah's wife in a drawer. It is bound to be one of the official portrait photographs of the former Shah, which is now circulating over the Internet. The copyright status on Farah Pahlavi's website doesn't change that fact (and it probably refers to the website as whole, anyway). I don't have more evidence, though. Let the admins judge it, then. --Botev (talk) 12:03, 23 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Keep per botev the images is of high quality and the license states its in public domain in iran the country of its origin. Ratnahastin (talk) 06:59, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Comment The problem we have it this: how do we verify that? If we can't, it should go per COM:PRP. Rodhullandemu (talk) 07:37, 25 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Deleted: per nomination and discussion. Copyright status is not clear, therefore image has to be deleted per COM:PRP. In addition, per COM:EVID the uploader should proof the image can be used with a free licence. The source website given is copyrighted. --Ellywa (talk) 22:32, 13 February 2022 (UTC)[reply]
