Commons:Deletion requests/File:Gateway mall.jpg
According to w:Gateway Mall (Araneta Center), this is a building in the Philippines from 2004. In most countries, all paintings, sculpture, architecture, text, and other creative works have copyrights which last for 70 years after the death of the creator. An image of a work that is still under copyright is a derivative work, and infringes on the copyright so that we cannot usually keep the image on Commons. In some countries, there is a special exception to the copyright law which allows such images under certain circumstances. We call that exception freedom of panorama (FOP). Unfortunately there is no applicable FOP exception in this case. Stefan4 (talk) 14:44, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Delete One I moved... :-( I agree with Stefan4, it needs to go. It's only used on en-wiki, I will undelete the old en-wiki version and use the en:Template:FoP-USonly - which was really sorted out after this particular move. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:24, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Comment When using w:Template:FoP-USonly, you also need to keep the photo licence. "FoP-USonly" is for the building whereas the other template is for the photographer's contribution. --Stefan4 (talk) 20:29, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
- Quite right, bit too swift. Ronhjones (Talk) 20:41, 12 March 2013 (UTC)
