User:Pleclown is an editor I have known for some time now, and whilst he has always been a provider of content, I have recently noticed that he does quite a lot of marking files for speedy deletion for being copyvios. Frankly, I am getting a little tired of his repeated requests in IRC to have entire upload streams from copyright violators nuked; he knows what our policies are, he knows copyright violations when he sees them, he's also a translate admin. He's also available in IRC on a regular basis, and is always ready to help others with queries in real time there, so having the tools would be of benefit there as well. I have no doubts him having access to the tools would be of benefit to him and the community in general. russavia (talk) 20:54, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

I gladly accept the nomination and thanks russavia for it. I will try to act in for the benefit of the project. I'm not a native english-speaker, so forgive my french :) I'm also a bot owner and a member of Wikimedia CH (the Wikimedia chapter in Switzerland). Pleclown (talk) 21:03, 27 June 2013 (UTC)

- Support, though his username hadn't crossed my radar so far, a scan through his contributions seems to confirm that he will be a valuable addition to the "admin-force". --Túrelio (talk) 07:22, 28 June 2013 (UTC)
- Support Sure thing. Pleclown will definitely be an asset to the sysop pool, and he has more than proven that he can be trusted with the tools. Jean-Fred (talk) 12:02, 28 June 2013 (UTC)

- Abstain Wait; the request says "he knows what our policies are…", but it doesn't say "I believe he is morally and ethically sound enough to understand the essence of those policies to make wise decisions". No community is safe even if they have enough good policies and guidelines; it (the safety) depends more on the goodness of the judges and rulers who act upon them. (Note: My decision to retire may be an advantage for this community; but I fear it may not be if you loss more people like Slaunger.) JKadavoor Jee 03:34, 29 June 2013 (UTC) This is just a generic comment about the problem in the procedure of selecting admins. Yes; we are making a big risk by giving almost all decision making rights to them and blindly supporting what they do on behalf of us. We can't simply measure a person from his uploads/transfers and deletion requests. JKadavoor Jee 11:14, 29 June 2013 (UTC)
