Official name of the car
editI have studied the books written by Emilio Polo about Hispano-Suiza: 1899-1915, 1916-1931, 1931-1946. This are reference books, each with more than 500 pages. The official name of the car is "HS 26", sometimes written "HS-26", "HS26" or "H.S. 26".
"Hispano-Suiza Junior" is only a nickname. I cannot find the combination with HS 26 and nickname like "Hispano-Suiza HS 26 Junior" in the books.
Category:Hispano-Suiza HS 26 Junior was created by User:Finoskov. He added no sources for this name. I cannot believe that he can deliver better sources than the books I mentioned above.
Because he had reverted me I must start a discussion. For information: User:Túrelio, User:Yann. --Buch-t (talk) 08:09, 28 April 2024 (UTC)
- Bonjour.
- Cordialement.

- Traduction Google (presumably approximate regarding technical terms: chemises humides et pont in particular)
- Good morning. Now that I have a little time I submit for your sagacity some extracts from chapter 16 entitled: The "wet shirts" - The Junior - The latest Barcelona models - Final evolution of the H6, from the French book Hispano-Suiza automobiles , from the origins to 1949 by Paul Badré published in 1990 by Edijac. On page 299 he writes: "In 1929 the Barcelona 20 CV became a 26 CV. It remained faithful to the cast iron cylinder block. But in 1930 we found its engine on a new French model, this time with an light-alloy block and the famous "wet" (shirts) cylinders : the Ballot HS 26 presented at the 1930 Paris Motor Show... at the Ballot stand, next to the brand's latest creation: the 8-cylinder Ballot RH which arrived in 1927. " A little further: “The (Ballot) HS 26 will soon be renamed Hispano-Suiza Junior.” A little further, on page 303: "In its original version presented in 1930 the "Ballot HS 26" still had a 32 CV style rear axle and a double exhaust manifold. The radiator bore the Ballot badge. The following year, the model was renamed Hispano-Suiza Junior and featured the Hispano emblem with a "banjo" type rear axle and a simple collector."
- This, for me, concludes the debate. It is so that everyone can understand that I have associated HS 26 and Junior in the name of the category (as do all serious websites, auctions in particular) while we should instead write only Hispano-Suiza Junior.
- To put it more simply, HS 26 is the name of the Ballot model.
- Sincerely.

- Interesting new details. I will check it again. Maybe we will leave it as it is now. --Buch-t (talk) 09:54, 9 June 2024 (UTC)
- Bonjour. Cordialement. Finoskov (talk) 16:32, 23 December 2024 (UTC)
