Where? [ "Mike du Jour" by Mike Lester letters]
Washington Post
On Nov. 25, I began reading the Comics, only to find that "Mike du Jour" by Mike Lester was nowhere to be found. Feeling forsaken by one of my favorite comic protagonists brought me back to when I would read "Where's Waldo?" to my two young boys. But at least Waldo could eventually be found. Not so with Mike.
Lester's strip is truly unique. The whimsical, unpredictable art style alone is a joy. Oh, how I wish I knew how to locate Mike's basset-hound mix, Minnie, to track down her master, thereby returning Mike to print!

Thank you for ending your association with "Mike du Jour." The salve of reading the comics after digesting the news was marred by Mike Lester's efforts to find a trope or stereotype to taunt our eyes with. His wordplay on a woman's breasts caused my last letter to you about him, and I needed to follow up with thanks for belatedly cleaning up your act. Offending paying customers belongs in stand-up clubs.
