About the Program

CULTIVATING SERVANT LEADERSHIP IN UNT STUDENTS THROUGH WEEKLY WORKSHOPS & CONNECTION WITH INDUSTRY MENTORS

Purpose

The Professional Leadership Program is a mentoring and leadership development program/course for students at the University of North Texas. It was created to develop our top students with the professional skills needed to have the leadership edge in any industry or career. Students are presented with opportunities in a one semester, Pass/No-Pass one-hour-credit course. Students learn about servant leadership, public speaking, networking events, time management, a business case study, ethics, and dining etiquette. PLP accepts all majors entering their junior and senior year of study to prepare for future internships and full-time employment in Dallas and the surrounding area.

Vision

The PLP vision is to continually be recognized in the education and business sectors as an exceptional servant leadership development and mentoring program, serving as a model for partnerships between the university, students, community, and businesses.
