On July 15, the 2024 summer hosting program for the children of Nuctech staff officially kicked off! This year's program includes a great variety of activities that aim for an all-round development of the children, including knowledge learning, hobby building, and physical exercise.The summer hosting program, thoughtfully designed by Nuctech, effectively alleviates the pressure on the staff to take care of their children during the summer break. Recently, Nuctech held a kick-off meeting at the Tongfang Building to launch the 2024 Tsinghua Summer Social Program with Nuctech. A total of 45 people attended the meeting, including 10 doctoral students and 20 undergraduates from the Department of Engineering Physics, Institute of Nuclear and New Energy Technology, and other departments of Tsinghua University, as well as mentors from various departments of Nuctech.   The meeting helped the 30 students from Tsinghua University better understand Nuctech, promoted talent cultivation and exchanges between Tsinghua and Nuctech and served as an official prelude to the summer social program. The program will last 6 weeks for the 10 doctoral students and 5 weeks for the 20 undergraduates.#SummerSocialProgram #TsinghuaUniversity

From June 25 to 26, Nuctech was invited to attend the "AI for Combating Wildlife Crime Workshop" organized by the World Wildlife Fund (WWF) and the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW). Jin Zhe, Deputy General Manager of China Customs Industry Center of Nuctech, delivered a keynote speech titled "Application and Achievements of Advanced Perspective Imaging and AI Technology in Combating Wildlife Smuggling," which won recognition and interest from the workshop attendees. In his speech, Jin Zhe introduced Nuctech's pioneering role in non-invasive imaging (NII) technology and shared the innovation progress in applying this technology to combat wildlife smuggling. Jin Zhe emphasized the critical role of WWF in raising public awareness and reminding the public of the legal risks of this matter. He also pointed out that wildlife smuggling is still very serious. Under this circumstance, NII technology, with its straightforward imaging capability, can help customs officers efficiently detect smuggled goods in different scenarios. With continuous technological developments, NII technology is now enhanced with two more functions, i.e., imaging angle and improved ability for material discrimination, to cope with more complicated inspection conditions.#WWF #CombatingWildlifeCrime #AI #NIItechnology

The Airport Authority Hong Kong (AAHK) will introduce a new smart security screening system at Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA), with the first scanners put into service in early July. AAHK says HKIA will be the world’s first to operate smart security screening channels across the entire airport. Passengers using the new smart security screening channels – which use equipment provided by Nuctech – can keep their electronic devices (including laptops and smartphones), as well as liquids, aerosols and gels, in their carry-on luggage, without having to take them out for screening as required by existing protocol.#HKIA #SmartSecurityScreeningSystem https://lnkd.in/ed4ZbwAx

The headquarter team and the Beijing company team recently enjoyed a great basketball time together. Organized by the labor union, this event was intended to allow basketball fans to gather together to experience the charm of basketball and enjoy the fun of sport.   The event took the form of a friendly competition, in which players set up teams based on their usual performance to play 3-on-3 or 5-on-5 basketball matches. Everyone, no matter novice or veteran, had the opportunity to show their basketball skills, build up their fitness, and make more like-minded friends.   From sign in, team setup, warm up, friendly matches to the group photo at the end, every step of the event was full of fun and excitement. On June 1, 2024, the Nuctech hosted a family event celebrating Children's Day. Themed “Colorful Childhood with Infinite Happiness,” the event was joined by about 400 people from nearly 120 families. Here, they would find the Chinese traditional folk art of dough figurines and paper-cutting, the fascinating body painting, the popular and exciting fish scooping, games like hopscotch and sticky balls that challenged their motor coordination, the delicious popcorn and ice cream they always love, as well as the wonderful performances and balloon twisting by the funny clowns. The family event on Children's Day has become a cherished tradition of the Nuctech Labor Union, a testament to our unwavering commitment to our employees and their families.
