"How does #FocusedUltrasound work?” This is a question you may ask yourself when you come across our posts. More than 10 million people live with #EssentialTremor, and #FUS is an innovative treatment that is available at treatment centers across the country. Focused ultrasound uses sound waves to “ablate” or alter specific brain tissue responsible for causing the tremor, which can lessen tremor frequency and strength. Patients actually stay awake during #FUS treatment. During the procedure, the surgical team asks the patient to perform tasks with their hand, such as drawing a spiral, to monitor progress in tremor improvement. We are live at European Academy of Neurology in Helsinki!
