🎉 On July 3rd, the 2024 #GlobalEnergyPrize was awarded to Professor Zhu Ziqiang, an R&D expert at Midea Group, in recognition of his outstanding contributions to electrified transportation, improving the energy efficiency of domestic appliances, and reducing emissions for the generation and utilization of electric power. In 2010, Zhu Ziqiang joined Midea Group, where he established three technology innovation panels to spearhead the research and development of core components in home appliances, industrial automation, and new energy vehicles. Under his leadership, Midea Group has developed over 600 patents, including industry-leading BLDC motors for tumble dryer washing machines and BLDC high-speed motors for vacuum cleaners. Professor Zhu Ziqiang holds several prominent positions: · Founder of Midea Industrial Technology Shanghai R&D Center · Distinguished researcher at Midea Corporate Research Center · Director of GMCC&Welling Shanghai R&D Center · Fellow of the Royal Academy of Engineering, the US IEEE Society, and the UK IET Society · Senior Professor leading the Electrical Machines and Drives Research Group at the University of Sheffield Congratulations to Professor Zhu Ziqiang and all laureates!
