Company souvenirs are frequently used in marketing campaigns, but can we also effectively reduce our carbon footprint through these souvenirs?   This pen holder primarily uses wheat straw as a carbon-reducing material. Producing this batch (200 pieces) of pen holders has reduced approximately 309 kg of CO2 emissions compared to traditional materials (most similar products on the market use an ABS body structure), equivalent to the amount of CO2 absorbed by 30 #Metasequoia trees in about one year. The calculation of the carbon emissions data is technically supported by SGS, the world's leading third-party certification organization. And this is only the first batch and a start. Imagine how much we could reduce our carbon footprint if we keep doing this. Stay tuned, and we will keep you updated!

Our CFO, Mr. Wei JIN, delivered an insightful speech and provided an in-depth tour of our state-of-the-art facilities, showcasing our latest innovations. The delegation engaged in fruitful discussions with our team, exploring ebm-papst's operational strategies and sharing experiences in the local market.   The ebm-papst Group remains highly confident in the Chinese market. The opening of our new headquarters in Shanghai and the expansion of our factory in Xi'an are testaments to this commitment. We believe in the power of our "glocal" strategy - think globally, act locally. This approach has driven our success, with our localization in the Chinese market increasing significantly from 55% to 85% over the past five years. We are excited about the future and our ongoing efforts to foster sustainable growth and innovation.

Covering an extensive area of approximately 27,000 square meters, the expansion includes a range of facilities such as offices, administrative buildings, production workshops, warehouses, and research labs. This strategic initiative aligns seamlessly with our 'Local for Local' strategy, which aims to integrate state-of-the-art product technology and production lines from our German headquarters to tailor products specifically for the Chinese market.   The #groundbreaking ceremony on April 30th marked a momentous occasion, graced by key executives including Thomas Nuernberger, Chief Sales Officer of the ebm-papst Group and CEO of Air Technology for the APAC&MEA region, alongside government officials such as Xi'an Mayor Niuping YE, Vice Mayor Hao MENG, and other project stakeholders.   Thomas Nuernberger expressed that "ebm-papst's decision to continue investing in Xi'an underscores our unwavering confidence in the Chinese market. The event attracted numerous experts and professionals from industry, government, and academia. With the growing demand for #sustainability and energy-efficient solutions, this seminar focused on the application of ebm-papst EC fans in air handling units (#AHUs) and cooling towers, exploring their energy-saving technologies and benefits through specific case studies. The seminar opened with a welcome speech by TSHRAE Chairman, Guan Yan-de. Our Business Development Manager, Pete Chen, delivered an insightful presentation on "Applications of EC Fans," detailing the significant advantages of EC fans in energy efficiency and emission reduction. These solutions are designed for commercial boilers, residential boilers, heat pumps, and hybrid heating systems, as well as sustainable solutions for commercial and residential ventilation. Given its energy-saving and low-carbon benefits, heat pump technology has become a market hotspot. Our AxiEco series EC fans, ideal components for heat pumps, drew significant attention from many attendees. In addition, our smart combustion systems, gas blowers, RadiCal centrifugal fans, locally developed BG60 platform products, and plug-and-play RadiPac centrifugal fans also garnered widespread interest.   Thank you to all colleagues and customers for your support and visits during the exhibition. As a pioneer in the industry, ebm-papst actively participated in exploring energy-efficient ventilation strategies, presenting significant opportunities for enhancing building performance, occupant comfort, and overall environmental sustainability. During the exhibition, our regional sales manager for Hong Kong, Yiu Daniel, delivered a keynote speech titled "Remarkable Energy Retrofit for Existing Buildings by Advanced EC Fan Technology" at the ESG Asia Forum. Daniel's presentation aimed to share ebm-papst's innovative solutions in green building energy retrofitting.

Thomas delved into the significance of the Chinese market for the group and explained why ebm-papst continues to invest in China. As a German company, ebm-papst has deep roots in China. Since entering the market in 1996, we have established large production bases in Shanghai and Xi'an, employing over 1,900 staff. Additionally, on April 22nd, we organized an inspiring offline event called "Transforming Waste Bottles." Our employees creatively repurposed discarded plastic and glass bottles into beautiful flower vases and storage containers with the guidance of skilled artisans. At ebm-papst, sustainability isn't just a slogan – it's a way of life.
