We're excited to announce a call for research focusing on migrant smuggling.   Researchers are invited to submit 300-word abstracts on the decision-making process prior to embarking on smuggling-facilitated journeys, and the impact of law enforcement operations against smugglers on local development. 🚨 Call for Abstracts: Focus on Migrant Smuggling 🚨 We are excited to announce a call for abstracts in collaboration with the Workstream on "Ensuring migrant protection through strengthened responses to migrant smuggling and increased coordination on its linkages with trafficking in persons." This initiative, co-led under the United Nations Network on Migration umbrella, promotes an enhanced focus on migrants' agency, vulnerabilities, needs, and their ties to local contexts. It emphasizes integrating innovative perspectives that consider migrants' views into counter-smuggling discourses. Selected abstracts and subsequent extended papers will be featured in a Special Issue, and opportunities will be provided for researchers to discuss and present their findings to policymakers, international organization staff, and fellow academics.
