🌍 Heat generation is responsible for approximately 14 Gt CO2, equating to 39% of energy-related CO2 emissions. To achieve net-zero by 2050, we need to generate an additional 15EJ of renewable heat by 2028 — a steep climb from the mere 2.5EJ added in the last five years. 🚀 Heat as a Service (HaaS) is a solution to overcome adoption barriers like lack of awareness and high investment costs, mobilizing crucial investments.  Here are 3 key learnings from existing HaaS projects for industrial companies: 1️⃣ Prioritize finding a committed, flexible, and stable HaaS partner early on. A reliable partner can mitigate concerns by assuming full project risk until the renewable heat solution is operational or by providing smaller pilot installations. 2️⃣ Develop a long-term energy procurement strategy. This ensures the HaaS partner scales the renewable heating solution effectively. HaaS can also lock in future heat prices, helping avoid volatile natural gas prices. 3️⃣ Leverage your HaaS partner to secure subsidies. This can reduce investment or operational costs of the renewable heat solution. 👚🔄 Transitioning towards a circular economy will lead to significant job transformations, making it essential to shift fairly and inclusively from a linear to a #CircularFashion and textile value chain. To achieve this transformation effectively and profitably, a standardized approach is crucial. That's why WBCSD developed the #CircularTransitionIndicators (CTI), a robust metrics framework positioned to be the universal language of circular performance and accountability. On 25 June, we hosted the second workshop for the CTI Fashion Initiative with Lis J Suarez Visbal. Focusing on a new approach to measure the social impact to have a just transition to a circular economy, this was a meaningful step toward aligning on a robust circularity metrics framework for the fashion industry. 📧 Want to learn more?
