Before the grand finale of the Tour de France, our special guests took on the final stage. Despite not all being professional cyclists, their effort and shared determination were truly inspiring on a difficult 34km time trial stage with 700m of elevation from Monaco to Nice. Some of our guests even had the unique opportunity to experience Stage 20 from inside the peloton, in a car that followed the cyclists closely.   Our “Inside the Tour de France” cycling experience was a true test of endurance and passion, allowing them to feel the excitement and challenge of the iconic race.   In the evening, we hosted a special event to mark the end of this remarkable Tour. A huge thank you to everyone who participated and made this weekend a resounding success.

Over the years, timing and delivery of competition results have become increasingly complex, evolving from hand-held stopwatches to pioneering advanced technology. In partnership with Swiss Timing, a Swatch Group company, we have developed several information technology-based systems to provide priceless accuracy every step of the way. With sensors, transponders, photocells, and 10,000-frame-per-second photo-finish cameras, we ensure impeccable accuracy. Our role is to master time and push the boundaries of ever-increasing precision and innovative technologies. However, it extends beyond just timing; we compile and disseminate time-related data for fans, athletes, coaches, and media, making every race an engaging experience.

As a new addition to our sport special edition lineup, the Tissot PR100 Tour de France 2024 Special Edition reflects people’s passion for one of the biggest cycling events in the world. Crafted with a 40mm case made of 316L stainless steel, this timepiece is built to endure the demand of everyday wear. Its dial features a thematic asphalt-grained black, reflecting the road beneath the cyclists' wheels. The design incorporates a second hand in the iconic yellow of the Tour de France, shaped like a bicycle. The chronograph hands are similarly coloured to complement the second hand, while the small second hand matches the stainless steel case. The G10.212 chrono quartz movement within provides precision, complemented by water resistance up to 10 bar (100 metres/330 feet), and visibility in low-light conditions is guaranteed by the Super-LumiNova® coating on the needle-shaped hands.

Last Saturday, we celebrated the Grand Départ of the Tour de France with the opening of a new boutique in Florence, on the renowned Via dei Calzaiuoli. The boutique features an international concept with a welcoming atmosphere, characterised by our unmistakable design codes. From the striking Tissot red accents to the large arched windows and the modular Heritage area, the space invites dynamic exploration of our wide range of watches, including the popular PRX, Seastar, and T-Touch lines. Our high-tech interior, spread over 60 square metres, combines contrasting materials like wood, glass, and stone to create a light and usable space. The innovative multimedia installations, including a state-of-the-art LED wall, enhance the modern and immersive experience, reflecting the pure Tissot spirit. This year, the Tour de France concludes in the sun-drenched South of France. With anticipation, our hero awaits by the roadside, immersed in the Tour de France with earbuds in, fueled by commentary. Joining the peloton, he shifts from dreamer to doer, earning respectful glances from professional cyclists. With bold confidence, he breaks away, inspired by courage, proving the ageless excitement of the chase. Outpacing the young, he challenges our notions of possibility, reminding us that "too late" is only too late if we never try. Time waits for no one, but it might just take a breather for a cyclist with enough cheek to challenge it.
