We recently hosted members of the Brazil Soybean Association at our Seeds R&D Quality Lab in Slater, Iowa, where they had a chance to meet the team and take a peek behind the scenes of our seeds innovation. 🌱 Our visitors got a hands-on look at the rigorous processes that ensure our seeds meet the highest quality standards with advanced technologies. They also had the unique opportunity to network with and discuss key topics with an expert in the field: a U.S. yield record-breaking soybean farmer. At our R&D Quality labs, we work to ensure every seed in all bags produce consistent, high-quality crops in the farmers' fields. We’ve streamlined our research and development with a farmer-first mindset, to include them in our processes, so we not only handle today’s challenges, but can help tackle what’s coming in the next 5-10 years. Swipe through to see some highlights of the event. 👇 #SeedQuality #Collaboration #AgTech

We're bringing the power of Generative AI to agriculture. At the World Agri-Tech Innovation Summit in London, taking place from 30th September to 1st October, we introduced Cropwise AI, a cutting-edge GenAI system that uses a unique combination of data and models to help farmers make better-informed decisions. Feroz Sheikh, Chief Information and Digital Officer at Syngenta Group, explained how we’re combining our deep agronomic knowledge with cutting-edge AI capabilities, enabling us to “empower growers to make data-driven decisions that drive productivity, profitability, and sustainability”. The Cropwise AI system offers growers tailored recommendations for precise input applications, product placement, and strategies for pest and disease control in easy-to-understand natural language. By gaining access to more user-friendly tools, we're empowering farmers everywhere to reach the most effective outcomes faster. Food waste is a critical challenge for society. As the United Nations highlights: “Enormous amounts of resources are used to produce food. When food is lost or wasted, these resources go to waste.” This International Day of Awareness of Food Loss and Waste, we're discussing how innovation can help us address this global issue. Our colleagues Alexandra Brand and Sjaak van der Ploeg, on site at Fields of Innovation, share their insights on the challenge of food waste in agriculture. Here they discuss one of our cauliflower varieties, an example of how we're working across the value chain to reduce food waste by taking advantage of some very specific traits. #FLWDay #SyngentaVegetableSeeds #FieldsofInnovation

Sustainable agricultural practices and innovative crop solutions have the potential to help farmers boost profitability and secure better livelihoods, while enhancing sustainability. 🌿 Today, we're spotlighting Ms. Sumalee Duangjin, a farmer from Chiang Mai, Thailand, who has transformed her farming journey as part of Syngenta Thailand's ‘Grow Well Eat Well’ project. Specializing in salad vegetables, Sumalee makes sure her produce meets the Good Agricultural Practices (GAP) standards. 🥗 Since November 2023, Sumalee's profits have soared - earning two to five times her initial investment. This has enabled her to pay off debts and reinvest in greenhouses, to grow better and more sustainably. She has also deepened her knowledge of safe crop protection and has found our Isabion® bio-stimulant to be a great addition to her growing journey. #SyngentaProud #Agriculture #GrowWellEatWell #SustainableFarming

In just six months, a team of six Brazilian Syngenta researchers achieved what would normally take years, rescuing their nation’s soybean crops from a crippling crisis. Facing losses of up to 45% in some regions – and with Brazil being one of the largest soy-producing countries – our scientists raced against time to uncover the mysterious anomaly behind the widespread decay and measure its devastating impact. Through their research, they discovered the first effective control measures against the decay. This groundbreaking achievement earned them the 2023 Syngenta Science & Technology Prize, a recognition that celebrates innovative breakthroughs by Syngenta’s scientists in solving agriculture’s toughest challenges. Our next Crops & Cultures series is here, with a new look and a new destination! This time we're exploring an important African food producer with strong roots in its rural communities: Zambia. Zambia's rain-fed agriculture is heavily impacted by climate change. Frequent extreme weather events like floods, droughts, and pest infestations can significantly reduce crop yields every year. We believe supporting all farmers builds sustainable food systems, advances food security and helps to achieve zero hunger globally. In Zambia, we’re working hand-in-hand with resilient growers like Christine Ngoma to better support them with greenhouse vegetable seedling growing, sales service, technical support, and more. Discover more about Zambia’s agricultural landscape. 👇 #SustainableAgriculture #Agriculture #Zambia
