Shippers, forwarders, and carriers play pivotal roles in this journey. Shippers can lead by signaling their demand for zero-emission logistics, while forwarders and carriers can take action through various measures, including transitioning to alternative fuels and battery electric vehicles.
Smart Freight Centre aims to be at the forefront, convening global logistics communities in Europe, the US, India, China, and East Africa to drive decarbonization efforts. The transition demands scalability and access to data, underscored by initiatives like the Fleet Electrification Coalition, which aims to scale up the deployment of battery electric trucks.
Transparency and trust are paramount in this transition. Our efforts focus on establishing transparency over logistics emissions, leveraging mechanisms like Book and Claim to encourage investments in sustainable fuels.
