Info
The Kühne Foundation, established by the Kühne family in Switzerland in 1976, is one of the largest foundations in the German-speaking world. It considers itself as an operative foundation and primarily implements its own projects and programs. The foundation's primary mission is to support education, training, and research in logistics and transport. It established the Kühne Logistics University in Hamburg in 2010, a private institution dedicated to advancing logistics knowledge. Additionally, the foundation's LEARN Logistics Program actively promotes logistics expertise in developing and emerging countries. HELP Logistics AG, a subsidiary of the foundation, specializes in humanitarian logistics, offering advice and support to government institutions and aid organizations globally. The Kühne Foundation is also significantly involved in medical projects. In Davos, Switzerland, it operates a medicine campus with major research programs in allergology and cardiology and manages the Hochgebirgsklinik. Since 2023, the foundation has expanded its focus to include climate initiatives by developing and implementing logistics-focused solutions to accelerate the transition to a just, low-carbon society by reducing emissions, removing carbon, and strengthening resilience. In the cultural arena, the Kühne Foundation supports prestigious festivals, opera houses, and concert halls across various European countries.
