Advancing minimally invasive care in Europe and beyond—that’s Intuitive. It’s also critical to our mission, as we work closely and collaboratively with our customers to help achieve better outcomes, better care team experiences, better patient experiences, lower cost of care, and improved access across the globe. Today, we’re in Freiburg with Dirk Barten and Henry Charlton—celebrating the opening of our new state-of-the-art campus for research and development, production, training, and sales. This is more than just a new location. It’s a new place to gather. A new opportunity to collaborate with our European customers as we strive to transform surgery, together. Our new campus in Germany is just one example of our expanding footprint. In September, we celebrated the expansion of our European headquarters in Aubonne, Switzerland. We are also celebrating new training centers in the Netherlands and Sweden, and also constructing a new manufacturing facility in Bulgaria to increase our 3D endoscope production capacity. “We’re confident in the future growth of minimally invasive care in Europe and are expanding our local footprint to meet those future needs,” said Dirk Barten, SVP and general manager of Europe at Intuitive. “We want to provide easier access to products, facilitate extensive training opportunities, attract local talent, and further strengthen our relationships with industry partners. All of this work is guided by the quintuple aim and our patients-first mindset.” At Intuitive, we strive to help physicians deliver the best outcomes possible—no matter where in the world they work.

We have walked side-by-side with our customers since the beginning to provide solutions that matter. Now, we’re proud to announce that da Vinci 5—our most advanced and integrated system yet—is having its second global release in South Korea. On this, Yong Bum Choi, general manager of Intuitive Korea says, “We hope that the launch of da Vinci 5, which integrates Intuitive’s latest technologies, will help provide better surgical outcomes for Korean healthcare professionals and elevate the high standards of medical care even further.” Endless innovation for our customers and their patients? At Intuitive, we believe lasting innovation begins where a good idea meets an important problem. But it only begins there. Lasting innovation doesn’t happen overnight. Dedication is required. Collaboration. Time. Reflection. Iteration. We change because it’s always possible to improve. And health is just too important. We all want and deserve to be healthy. To focus on our lives and spend our time well. With friends. With family. Traveling. Learning. Reading. Loving. Doing all the things that give us joy. At Intuitive, we’ve been innovating for almost thirty years. That’s brought us five generations of da Vinci. Each one, a step forward on a journey that never really ends. We can always get better, and we always will. #WeAreIntuitive

Intuitive is proud to recognize National Disability Employment Awareness Month, and to celebrate our employees with disabilities whose talent and passion drive Intuitive’s success every day. Leading our celebrations at Intuitive is Diverse-Abilities, the Employee Resource Group (ERG) for employees with disabilities, allies, and caregivers dedicated to ensuring that people with disabilities are represented, valued, and deeply embedded into the culture at Intuitive. For this year’s celebrations, the ERG chose the theme “From Bias to Belonging.” Last week, the ERG hosted Paul Gimenez, director of DEI & Belonging at The Design Gym, whose keynote focused on the neuroscience and psychology of unconscious bias. Paul provided evidence-based approaches to overcoming bias, emphasizing that as we commit to fighting bias, we should do so with “excessive humility,” seeking connection, and leading with curiosity. Jason Hart, executive sponsor of Diverse-Abilities, reflected on his own experience of bias: “We all move through the world with deeply ingrained and often unconscious biases. But curiosity and compassion are how we recognize and counteract our biases. They’re how we learn, and how we grow.” Intuitive is a company that relies on the uniqueness of every employee to drive our mission forward. Here’s to celebrating the differences that strengthen us, and the inclusive culture that helps all of us feel like we belong. #WeAreIntuitive

Advancing the future of robotic surgery in Asia-Pacific and beyond—that’s Intuitive. And imperative, as we strive to increase access to minimally invasive care across the globe. Intuitive CEO Gary Guthart recently concluded an impactful trip across the region, visiting China, Japan, South Korea, and India. We celebrated the opening of an innovation hub in Beijing, a global capability center in Bengaluru, and signed key MOUs with leading hospitals in South Korea. We introduced Japanese surgeons to da Vinci 5, the most advanced and integrated system we’ve ever created. We also engaged healthcare leaders in critical and insightful conversations about reimbursement challenges and robotic surgery outcomes across Asia-Pacific. “When we meet with customers and bring our latest technologies to market around the globe, we continue our effort to expand access to minimally invasive care,” says Intuitive CEO Gary Guthart. “Intuitive is proud to be part of the innovation ecosystem throughout Asia, striving to improve the experience of patients and care teams in the countries we serve.” At Intuitive, we strive to help physicians deliver the best outcomes possible—no matter where in the world they work.

“Every single day you know there is a patient at the end of whatever you’re doing,” says Kamilah Brewton, a da Vinci clinical sales manager based in Raleigh, North Carolina. With over 12 years at Intuitive, Kamilah truly understands the patient journey—because she lived it herself. Facing surgery to remove a fallopian tube, she felt that familiar wave of nerves. But stepping into the operating room and seeing the da Vinci system made all the difference. “I knew I was in good hands,” she recalls. Now, a decade later, Kamilah's personal experience fuels her mission to expand access to da Vinci technology throughout the Southeast. “My commitment to prioritizing patients has always been important, but as a patient myself, I feel it even deeper.” Join us in celebrating Kamilah’s journey and the impact of patient-centered care! 💙 #WeAreIntuitive #MyDaVinciStory

We’re at #ACSCC24 discussing da Vinci 5 with Drs. Ankit Patel, Pamela Lee, and Doug Stoddard. What is the clinical value of force feedback technology? What can we learn from our kinematic data? How can remote collaboration be used to help surgeons deliver better care to patients? This isn’t just a conversation about a robot. It’s a conversation about how surgeons are using da Vinci 5 to transform surgery. It’s about solving problems and adding value. Dr. Lee says, "With the acquisition of da Vinci 5 to our current fleet, I have had the ability to see, firsthand, the improvements that have been made compared to the Xi technology. I have seen a 29% reduction in my force on tissue based on our early data collection. Being in control of every aspect of the surgery from my console has allowed me to be more efficient and cut down my surgical times. What's amazing is that even with all of these advances, I am still the most excited about what's to come." *Testimonials are based on unique experiences from current customers. The individuals in this video were compensated for their testimonials. *For risks, cautions, and warnings and full prescribing information, refer to the associated da Vinci 5 Surgical System user manual(s).
