Get a sneak peek from our event at Cannes during Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity We have approved 255 professionals out of 750 received requests, and 133 professionals registered on the same day, with 85 staying in the room. Among the received requests, we have approved 208 client-side professionals: - 27% executives (CMO, VP) - 48% directors/heads (Head of Marketing, Insights Director, Marketing Director etc) - 19% managers (Sr Insights Managers, Global brand leads etc) To our surprise, people arrived from different parts of the world. We have attendees from Africa, Australia, the Middle East, and South America; however, the largest groups were from Europe and North America. Time had passed, but I am still under the impression of the Cannes Lions International Festival of Creativity event… It was an honor to join the panel arranged by IBM & Brand Innovators at Armani Caffe The topic was “Beyond Automation: #GenAI as a #Catalyst for True Marketing Transformation” As GenAI transforms marketing and customer experiences, it is reshaping how we work. And its impact isn’t just increased productivity; it’s a catalyst for redefining processes and helping people be more creative, strategic and impactful. We discussed how best to harness the potential of GenAI to drive better business outcomes and enable marketing teams and creative talent. The discussion was moderated by Billy Seabrook, Senior Partner, Global Chief Design Officer, IBM iX, IBM Consulting Was an honor to share the stage with outstanding leaders: - Chandreyi Saha Davis, Global VP of Brand Marketing, Expedia Group - Purvi Doraiswamy, Vice President, Digital Operations, AARP - Kerry Flynn, Media Deals Reporter, Axios Several points we discussed: Even though AI is the most disruptive force impacting the way we work, it presents numerous challenges, including: - threats to brand safety, intellectual property, and proprietary data; erosion of customer experience (CX) and employee experience (EX) quality; potential data inaccuracies, biases, and uncertain provenance; data privacy and security concerns; and a lack of preparedness due to insufficient generative AI skills and expertise. Only 5% of corporate organizations interviewed by IBM reported having an organization-wide approach to generative AI best practices and governance. Half of these organizations are still in the process of establishing such measures, while almost one in five (18%) are making no efforts to adopt a formal approach at all. Comprehensive change management is needed to promote generative AI experimentation through controlled pilots. Diverse design teams must be included to maintain authenticity, personalize high-quality experiences, and uphold brand standards. It was an honor to be invited to the panel to represent insights professionals! We are often overlooked when it comes to being invited to the boardrooms to discuss these types of topics, while our expertise addresses many of the challenges in adopting AI to centralize data and convert it into business learnings.
