IFEX AG has the ambitious aim to deliver a major breakthrough in aerial firefighting by having the first in the world firefighting drone, that is carrying a substantial firefighting potential without being attached by a hose to a supply unit on the ground. We have developed an innovative fire drone. It will be present at a nearby location and connected with the smoke detectors in the apartment. On receiving the fire signals, it will fly up in position and collect important information, such as smoke density level, temperature, people involved, and overall alarm credibility. The information will be collected by the cameras of the drone (video, infrared and thermos) from outside the apartment, through the windows. It will then be forwarded to the response team, which will arrive at the scene with already collected extensive information about the fire, its nuances and potential hazards. The drone itself has substantial firefighting potential. When needed, it will discharge the extinguishing agent (like water) at a 420 km/h velocity directly into the core of the fire, increasing the cooling surface of the agent 100-fold and penetrating the natural heat barrier, rapidly cooling down the temperature from 900° C to 150° C, preventing the fire from spreading and thus helping firefighters to control the situation and to use less water, and ultimately save people’s lives and protect their valuables.
