Last week was so insightful and educational as we wrapped up Hocoma Academy, 2024 edition! The final day was filled with valuable insights and real-world applications. Here's a quick recap: 🔹 Our participants were treated to an inspiring lecture by experts from CEN - Centro Europeo de Neurociencias CENNEURO - DIH’s Centre of Excellence, Cristina Vázquez and José López Sánchez, who shared cutting-edge knowledge on rehabilitation technologies. 🔹 We wrapped up the day with site visits to Kinderspital Zürich where Prof. Andreas Meyer-Heim and Prof. Huub van Hedel delivered remarkable sessions on #pediatric rehabilitation, Nextherapy Neuro Rehab Centers where Nilofar Niazi offered an inside look into Nextherapy’s operations. A huge thank you to our amazing speakers and all participants for making this edition of Hocoma Academy truly special. We’re already looking forward to the innovations that lie ahead and the next edition!

It was an incredible day at cereneo! 🧠🏥 A group of Hocoma Academy participants visited cereneo, a leading #rehabilitation and #research center in the field of #stroke, #Parkinson, trauma, and brain disease. Equipped also with their own research institute and thanks to strong research collaborations, they do not only implement innovative technologies into their practices as fast as possible, but they also test their efficiency in treatment. Participants witnessed Motek Medical B.V.’s CAREN in action and attended insightful Expert Talks including one from Prof. Dr. med. Andreas Luft. Prof. Luft is a neurologist and clinical scientist, Professor at Zurich University and Medical Director at cereneo. He also runs the Stroke Centre at the University Hospital of Zurich. He is known internationally for his research in the field of #neurorehabilitation. Thanks to our other speakers Christoph Bauer Aileen Naef Luca Nastasi Chris Easthope Awai Meret Branscheidt and Belen Valladares from Lake Lucerne Institute and DART Lab @LLUI for sharing their insights. We ended the day with a fantastic Academy Dinner in the vibrant heart of Zürich!

Since 2003, the Valens Rehab Center has implemented #robotics and technology for #rehabilitation and has been an innovator in the intelligent clinical integration of technology, therapy planning, and development of clinical protocols. A special shoutout to our keynote speakers, Dr. Till Hornung and Janosch Krauthäuser, along with other experts, for sharing their insights into Valens’ innovative approach to rehabilitation. An insightful day at Rehaklinik Zihlschlacht! On Day 3, our Hocoma Academy participants had an incredible experience at DIH’s first Center of Excellence in Switzerland, specializing in brain and nerve injury treatment for over 30 years. 🌟 We had the privilege of learning from top experts like Dr. Benedikt Bader, Conny Cox, and more during the Expert Talk session. The highlight was also the speech from Prof. Tim Vanbellingen. Prof. Tim Vanbellingen is Affiliated Group Head at the ARTROG Center for Biomedical Engineering Research, Gerontechnology & Rehabilitation, University of Bern (Switzerland). He is also Head of Scientific Development at VAMED. His research focuses on the use of new technologies such as Virtual Reality for the recovery of #neurological patients, along with sensor-based devices for the #rehabilitation of the upper limb function.
